LinkedIn Modish features from 6 October

Today LinkedIn will introduce a host of new features as part of a fresh redesign. It now has a variety of new messaging features to give users quicker ways to communicate and have more control over their conversations and messages.

Now it's easy for users to switch the conversation from chat to face-to-face using Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans by Verizon, or Zoom directly in LinkedIn messages.

To do that, users need to click on the video icon next to where they would have had typed a message. From there, they will see a pop-up where one can choose from Teams, Zoom, or BlueJeans and a prompt to sign in.

Users can share a unique link to start an instant meeting or schedule the meeting for later.

Apart from this, there are other modish features will be coming today it might be dark mode, added emoji, opportunity to report inappropriate messages, ability to edit one's message -
To make use of the feature, an account holder will have to press-and-hold or double tap on the message to open up a menu of options on mobile. On a desktop, the user needs to hover over the message until they see a pop-up with "..." From there they will get options to edit or delete.

How to use LinkedIn Stories
Perhaps not surprisingly, LinkedIn's version works almost the same as the equivalents on other social media platforms. But in case you're unfamiliar with the concept, here's a step-by-step guide:

- On the top left of your "home" feed, you'll now see small circles at the top with the names and photos of some of your connections. These are there Stories.

- To add to yours, click on your name and profile photo, which is displayed with a small "+" sign.

- Use the red button in the middle of the screen to capture real-time videos or pictures, or upload them from your camera roll using the left "camera" button.

- Customise using stickers or text and then click "share story".

- Like other "story" iterations, the post will then be visible for 24 hours. It will only be able to be viewed by your "first-degree" connections, so those you have actively accepted as a connection.

- After publishing, you will then gain access to an analytics tool to see who viewed your story.

P.S- some of the features are already in selected markets including the US, Australia, Brazil, and the UAE. But make sure to update your LINKEDIN mobile app to use it from today onwards if you're in India.
